V. Manohar is a renowned Indian music director, lyricist, actor, and filmmaker who has made significant contributions to Kannada and Tulu cinema. Known for his melodious compositions, witty lyrics, and versatile artistic talent, he has been a prominent figure in the South Indian entertainment industry since the early 1990s.
Early Life
Born in Vitla, a town in Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district, V. Manohar developed an interest in art and creativity from a young age. Before entering the film industry, he worked as a cartoonist for newspapers and magazines. His creative background helped shape his distinctive style as a lyricist and composer.
Career
V. Manohar began his film career in the early 1990s and was closely associated with noted Kannada filmmakers Kashinath and Upendra. His breakthrough as a music director came with Tharle Nan Maga (1992), after which he established himself as one of Kannada cinema's most sought-after composers.
Over the years, he has composed music for more than 100 films and written lyrics for over 1,000 songs. His work spans a wide variety of genres, from romantic melodies and folk-inspired songs to comedy and commercial entertainers. Some of his notable films include Janumada Jodi, O Mallige, Anuraaga Sangama, Duniya, Mathadana, and Janumada Gelathi.
Apart from films, Manohar has also composed music for numerous popular Kannada television serials. His title tracks for comedy and family-oriented serials became household favorites and contributed to his popularity among television audiences.
