Vimi was an Indian actress who rose to fame in Hindi cinema during the late 1960s. Best known for her debut in the blockbuster film Hamraaz (1967), she became one of Bollywood's most talked-about newcomers. Despite her early success and striking screen presence, her film career was brief, and her personal life was marked by financial and emotional struggles.

Early Life

Vimi was born in 1943 in Jalandhar, Punjab, British India (now in Punjab, India). She came from a conservative Punjabi family and received her education in Delhi. She later married businessman Shiv Agarwal, and the couple had two children. Her decision to pursue a career in films reportedly caused friction with her family.

Film Career

Vimi entered the Hindi film industry after being noticed for her beauty and elegance. She made her acting debut in Hamraaz (1967), directed by B. R. Chopra and co-starring Sunil Dutt and Raaj Kumar. The film became a major commercial success, and Vimi received widespread recognition for her performance.
