Jackky Bhagnani (born December 25, 1984) is an Indian actor, film producer, and entrepreneur, best known for his work in the Bollywood film industry. He is also the founder of the Indian music label Jjust Music.

 

Early Life

Born in Kolkata, West Bengal, Jackky hails from a Sindhi family. He pursued his schooling before earning a degree in Humanities from H.R. College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai. Additionally, Jackky completed a diploma in Printing and Technology Engineering. While initially aspiring to become an IAS Officer, he later developed an interest in acting and trained at the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

 

Career

Jackky made his film debut with Kal Kissne Dekha in 2009, a movie that was met with negative reviews and poor box office performance. Despite this early setback, he continued to pursue acting, and in 2011, he starred in F.A.L.T.U., a comedy that received mixed reviews but achieved moderate success at the box office. The film's positive reception led to discussions of a sequel, though it was never made.

 

In 2012, Jackky starred in Ajab Gazabb Love, which failed to make an impact at the box office. However, his performance in the 2014 film Rangrezz, directed by Priyadarshan, was well-received, though the film struggled commercially despite featuring a popular song, "Gangnam Style."

 

Following this, Jackky appeared in Youngistaan (2014), a love story with political undertones that was criticized by critics and failed at the box office. This film also gained attention as India's independent entry to the Oscars, causing a stir on social media.

 

In 2015, Jackky starred in Welcome to Karachi, a comedy film that performed decently. That same year, he ventured into film production with Sarbjit, a biographical drama, which was commercially successful. Jackky later produced and acted in the short film Carbon (2017), which was released on YouTube.

 

Jackky continued expanding his career, producing films like Dil Juunglee (2018) and Welcome to New York (2018). He also made his Tamil debut with the horror film Mohini, starring opposite Trisha. In 2021, Jackky Bhagnani made his relationship with actress-producer Rakul Preet Singh public. The couple tied the knot on February 21, 2024, in a beautiful traditional Sindhi and Sikh wedding ceremony in Goa, marking a new chapter in their personal lives.
