Singampuli, born on July 6, 1968, in Theni, Tamil Nadu, India, is a versatile figure in the Tamil film industry, known for his work as an actor, writer, and director. He has successfully transitioned between roles behind and in front of the camera, leaving a significant impact on Kollywood.

 

 

Early Career and Directorial Ventures

After studying engineering in Bangalore, Singampuli moved to Chennai to pursue a career in films. He began his journey as an assistant director, notably working with director Sundar C. During this period, he even suggested the original plot point for the film Unnaithedi (1999).

 

 

Singampuli made his directorial debut with the 2002 action film Red, starring Ajith Kumar. He then went on to direct the acclaimed kidnap comedy Maayavi (2005), featuring Suriya and Jyothika, which earned him recognition for his direction and writing.

 

 

Transition to Acting and Supporting Roles
