Siddhant Issar

Biography

Siddhant Issar is an Indian actor, model, writer, director, theatre artist, and independent content creator who has carved a distinctive identity in Indian entertainment through his powerful performances, literary depth, and dedication to mythological and socially driven storytelling.

Born into a legendary film lineage, Siddhant is the son of veteran actor, writer, and director Puneet Issar. His maternal grandfather, Daljit Puri, and paternal grandfather Sudesh Issar were both respected writers, directors, and actors. His maternal uncle, Satyajeet Puri, is also an accomplished actor, writer, and director. Despite this rich heritage, Siddhant has built his career through consistent effort, discipline, and creative exploration.

Early Career and Film Foundation

Siddhant began his journey behind the scenes as an apprentice in major Bollywood productions such as Jai Ho and Kick. He also assisted in Punjabi films like Best of Luck and contributed creatively to projects such as I Am Singh and Born to Be King, where he co-wrote and served as an associate.

He later worked as a creative director for Abis Rizvi Films on projects including Roar: The Tigers of the Sundarbans and He-Man. From 2017 to 2018, Siddhant served as a creative writer for a Star Plus show produced by Salman Khan Television, Gama Pehelwaan, starring Sohail Khan.

Theatre: His True Creative Home

Theatre remains Siddhant Issar’s strongest artistic foundation. He has performed in numerous acclaimed stage productions, both mythological and social.

He has portrayed:

Abhimanyu in Chakravyuh

Duryodhan in Mahabharat: An Epic Tale (which he also co-wrote)

Since 2017, Siddhant has performed in over 150 shows of Mahabharat: An Epic Tale, portraying Lord Krishna — a role he describes as spiritually transformative.

Simultaneously, since 2021, he has been performing as Prabhu Shri Ram in the Broadway-style live production Jai Shri Ram Ramayan, which he also co-wrote and directed. His performances have received overwhelming audience appreciation across India.

He has also led children’s theatre productions at Prithvi Theatre, such as Jhumroo Jhumri and Jungle Dhoom, along with several socially themed plays, including Sukhe Hue Phool Kitaabon Main Khile, Ravan Leela, and Chinta Chor Chintamani.

In the web series Jai Maa Vaishno Devi, Siddhant was cast by Prem Sagar and Shiv Sagar (sons of legendary Ramanand Sagar) as Bhagwan Shri Ram and multiple Vishnu avatars, including Kalki. The series later aired on DD National and JioCinema.

A Performer Rooted in Mythology

Siddhant has portrayed Prabhu Shri Ram in multiple large-scale Ramleelas across India. His father, Puneet Issar, often portrays Raavan alongside him, symbolizing a powerful blend of tradition, performance, and generational artistry.

He has expressed that being associated with divine characters is both a responsibility and a blessing, and he embraces the possibility of being typecast in powerful or negative roles, just as his father was.

Philosophy and Identity

Siddhant believes that on stage, there is no father and son — only actors devoted to their roles. His artistic approach reflects humility, discipline, and reverence for storytelling. Whether portraying gods, warriors, kings, or modern characters, he prioritizes emotional honesty and cultural authenticity.
