Selvaa
Biography
Selvaa is an Indian film director who works primarily in Tamil cinema. He made his directorial debut with Thalaivaasal (1992), which featured an ensemble cast and dealt with violence and politics in a college setting.
He went on to direct films such as Amaravathy (1993), Karnaa (1995), Pooveli (1998), Unnaruge Naan Irundhal (1999), Student Number 1 (2003), Jore (2004), Aanai (2005), Naan Avanillai (2007), Thotta (2008), Guru En Aalu (2009), and Naanga (2012).
Among his notable works, Aanai (2005), starring Arjun, was a Tamil adaptation of the action thriller Man on Fire. Selvaa has also directed several remakes, including Guru En Aalu, based on the Hindi film Yes Boss.
