Pramod-Pappan
Biography
Pramod and Pappan are Indian screenwriter and filmmaker brothers who have predominantly worked in Malayalam cinema. The duo is known for directing action-oriented and commercial films featuring prominent Malayalam actors.
Early Life and Career
Pramod and Pappan are brothers who initially worked as entrepreneurs under the brand name Lensman. Pramod was a photographer and developed a friendship with writer-director A. K. Lohithadas. Through this association, he made his debut as a still photographer with Joker (2000).
The brothers later worked together on several music albums before moving into film direction. They made their directorial debut with Vajram (2004), starring Mammootty in the lead role.
Directorial Career
Following Vajram, Pramod-Pappan directed Thaskaraveeran (2005), which featured Mammootty and Nayanthara. They subsequently directed films including Abraham & Lincoln (2007), Black Stallion (2009), Bangkok Summer (2011) and Musafir (2013).
Their films generally incorporated elements of action, crime, suspense and drama, with stories built around conflicts between characters and criminal networks.
Other Activities
After directing Musafir, the brothers became involved in other aspects of film production and entertainment. They later worked as executive producers and also became involved in celebrity event management through Pramod-Pappan Star Marshall.
