Nikita Thukral, born on July 6, 1981, in Mumbai, Maharashtra, is an Indian actress and model known for her work across various regional film industries, including Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam cinema.

 

Early Life and Education

Raised in a Punjabi Hindu family in Mumbai, Nikita pursued her academic interests diligently, earning a Master's degree in Economics from Kishinchand Chellaram College. Her entry into the entertainment industry was serendipitous; producer D. Ramanaidu discovered her at a hotel in Juhu and offered her a role in his Telugu film Hai (2002), marking her acting debut.

 

Career Highlights

Nikita's career spans multiple languages and genres. After her debut in Hai, she appeared in the Malayalam film Kaiyethum Doorath. She gained recognition in Tamil cinema with films like Kurumbu (2003) and Saroja (2008), the latter earning her the ITFA Best Supporting Actress Award.

 

In Kannada cinema, she made a significant impact with her role in Maharaja (2005) alongside Kichcha Sudeepa. Her performances in films such as Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (2012) and Rajasimha (2018) further solidified her status in the industry. ​

 

Nikita also ventured into television, featuring in Hindi serials like Aati Rahengi Baharein (2002–2003) and Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan (2007). In 2013, she participated in the inaugural season of Bigg Boss Kannada, finishing as the second runner-up after spending 99 days in the house.

 

Personal Life

In 2016, Nikita married Gagandeep Singh Mago. Beyond acting, she has modeled for designer Roopa Vohra and is known for her love of animals, often sharing photos of her pet dog on social media.
