Marc Toberoff
Biography
Marc Toberoff is an American entertainment attorney, film producer and copyright specialist. He is the founding partner of Toberoff & Associates, a law firm focused on intellectual property, copyright disputes and entertainment litigation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University and a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School in 1980. Before establishing his legal career, he also worked as an assistant to filmmaker Robert Altman.
He is widely known for representing writers, artists and the heirs of prominent creators in disputes over film, television and comic-book rights. His notable clients have included the families of Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel, comic-book artist Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, musician James Brown and singer Ray Charles.
Alongside his legal work, Toberoff has pursued a career as a film producer. His production credits include Piranha 3D (2010), Piranha 3DD (2012), Fantasy Island (2020), Prey (2022), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024), Play Dirty (2025) and Predator: Badlands (2025).
