Madan Puri was a prominent Indian film actor known for playing memorable villain and character roles in Hindi cinema. With a career spanning more than three decades, he appeared in hundreds of films and became one of the most recognizable supporting actors in Bollywood during the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s.
Early Life
Madan Puri was born on 30 September 1915 in Lahore (now in Pakistan). He grew up in a Punjabi family and completed his early education in Lahore.
Before entering the film industry, he worked in the Indian Railways, but his passion for acting eventually led him to pursue a career in films.
He was also the elder brother of the well-known actor Amrish Puri, who later became one of the most famous villains in Indian cinema.

Madan Puri moved to Mumbai to try his luck in the film industry. He started his career in the late 1940s with small roles and gradually gained recognition for his strong screen presence.
