Karthika Nair (born 27 June 1992) is a former Indian actress who worked primarily in South Indian cinema, appearing in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam films. She is best known for her performances in Ko (2011) and Proprietors: Kammath & Kammath (2013), and for portraying strong, unconventional female characters during her brief but notable film career.

Karthika Nair was born on 27 June 1992 in India. From an early age, she showed an interest in cinema and eventually chose acting as a profession. She entered the film industry at a young age and quickly gained recognition for taking on diverse roles across multiple South Indian film industries.
Career
Early Work and Breakthrough
Karthika Nair made her acting debut in the Telugu film Josh (2009), opposite Naga Chaitanya. Although the film received mixed reviews, it served as an important launchpad for her career.
She rose to prominence with her second film and first major success, the Tamil political thriller Ko (2011), in which she starred opposite Jiiva and Piaa Bajpai. The film was both a critical and commercial success, and her performance brought her widespread recognition.
Following this, she found further success in Malayalam cinema with Proprietors: Kammath & Kammath (2013), opposite Dileep. The film performed well at the box office and strengthened her position as a promising actress in South Indian cinema.
Telugu Films
In 2012, Karthika appeared in the Telugu film Dammu, directed by Boyapati Srinu. She was paired opposite N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and shared screen space with Trisha. Cast in a limited glamorous role, her performance and the film received mixed reviews, and the project did not perform well commercially.
She returned to Telugu cinema in 2014 with Brother of Bommali, her third Telugu film. In the movie, she played Lucky, a street-smart, tomboyish twin sister of Allari Naresh’s character. The film featured a strong ensemble cast including Brahmanandam, Ali, Kelly Dorji, Nagineedu, and Vineet Kumar. Her full-length comic role was noted as a departure from conventional heroine portrayals.
Tamil Cinema and Critical Acclaim
In 2015, Karthika Nair appeared in her third Tamil film, the political crime drama Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai, directed by National Film Award–winning filmmaker S. P. Jananathan. The film starred Arya, Vijay Sethupathi, and Shaam.
She played Kuyili, a key strategist behind a prison break plan. For the role, she learned to ride a motorcycle, highlighting her commitment to the character. Her performance was widely appreciated for its strength and originality, and the character was noted for breaking away from traditional commercial heroine stereotypes. The film received both critical acclaim and commercial success.
Unreleased Project
Karthika Nair also worked on the Tamil film Vaa Deal, starring Arun Vijay. However, the film faced prolonged delays and is considered unreleased and likely shelved.
