Kaloor Dennis

Biography

Kaloor Dennis is an Indian screenwriter, dialogue writer and novelist who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. He began his film career in 1979 with Anubhavangale Nandi and went on to contribute to more than 100 Malayalam films as a writer, screenwriter and dialogue writer.

Career

During his long career, Kaloor Dennis became associated with several prominent Malayalam filmmakers, including I. V. Sasi, Joshiy, P. G. Viswambharan and others. His notable writing credits include Raktham (1981), Aa Raathri (1983), Sandarbham (1984), January Oru Orma (1987), Gajakesariyogam (1990), Mimics Parade (1991), Welcome to Kodaikanal (1992), Kudumbasametham (1992) and Paithrukam (1993).

His writing covered a variety of genres, including family drama, comedy, suspense and social stories. He also wrote the story and screenplay for Iniyum Kadha Thudarum (1985), demonstrating his involvement in both story development and screenwriting.

Awards

Kaloor Dennis received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Screenplay in 1992 for Kudumbasametham. His extensive body of work has made him one of the recognizable screenwriters associated with Malayalam cinema's commercially successful period.

Personal Life

Kaloor Dennis is married to Seena Dennis and has children, including filmmakers Dino Dennis and Deeno Dennis. His family has continued to have connections with Malayalam cinema.
