Jyothi Krishna
Biography
Jyothi Krishna is an Indian film director and screenwriter active in the Tamil and Telugu film industries. Born around 1981, he is the elder son of producer A. M. Rathnam and the older brother of actor Ravi Krishna. He began his career in the film industry at a young age, contributing to the story of his father's production Natpukkaga (1998) at just 17 years old. He also participated in story discussions for major films like Padayappa (1999) and Sneham Kosam (1999).
Career Highlights
Jyothi Krishna made his directorial debut with the bilingual romantic drama Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (Tamil) / Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu (Telugu) in 2003, featuring Tarun, Trisha Krishnan, and Shriya Saran, with music composed by A. R. Rahman. He continued with the action film Kedi (2006), starring his brother Ravi Krishna. In 2012, he directed Ooh La La La, a Tamil romantic drama in which he also played the lead role. His 2017 Telugu action thriller Oxygen starred Gopichand, Raashi Khanna, and Anu Emmanuel, and addressed issues related to the illegal tobacco trade.
