Rhind-Tutt was born in West Drayton, London, and is the youngest of five children. He studied English and Theatre Studies at the University of Warwick before attending the Central School of Speech and Drama, where he won the prestigious Carleton Hobbs Award from BBC Radio Drama in 1992. His early career included work in theatre and supporting film roles in major productions like The Madness of King George (1994), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and Notting Hill (1999).
