Biography
J. K. Bharavi is an Indian filmmaker, writer, lyricist, actor, composer, and producer known primarily for his work in Telugu cinema. He has contributed to several mythological, devotional, and historical films as a writer and director.
Career
J. K. Bharavi began gaining recognition as a screenwriter with films such as Annamayya (1997), Sri Manjunatha (2001), Sri Ramadasu (2006), Pandurangadu (2008), and Om Namo Venkatesaya (2017). He also wrote Bommalata (2006), which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu.
He made his mark as a director with Sri Jagadguru Adi Shankara (2013), a Telugu film based on the life and teachings of Adi Shankaracharya. He has also worked as a lyricist, actor, composer, and producer, demonstrating his versatility across different areas of filmmaking.
Among his later writing credits is Kurukshetra (2019), the epic historical drama based on the Mahabharata. His body of work is particularly associated with Indian mythology, spirituality, history, and devotional storytelling.
