Acting Career

In the 1980s and early 1990s, Jenny Lewis appeared in numerous television shows and films. Her acting credits include guest roles in series like The Golden Girls and Baywatch, and film appearances in Troop Beverly Hills (1989) and The Wizard (1989). By the mid-1990s, however, Lewis began transitioning away from acting to focus on her passion for music.

Musical Career and Rilo Kiley

Jenny Lewis gained prominence as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the indie rock band Rilo Kiley, which she co-founded in 1998. The band released several critically acclaimed albums, including The Execution of All Things (2002), More Adventurous (2004), and Under the Blacklight (2007). Lewis's emotionally resonant songwriting and unique vocal delivery became defining elements of the band's sound.

Solo Career and Collaborations

In 2006, Lewis released her debut solo album, Rabbit Fur Coat, in collaboration with the Watson Twins. It was met with widespread praise for its folk and Americana influences.
