Jayshree Talpade
Biography
Jayshree Talpade, professionally known as Jayshree T., is an Indian actress, dancer, and television performer who gained popularity in Hindi cinema for her energetic dance numbers and supporting roles. She began her career as a child artist at the age of five with Goonj Uthi Shehnai before making her debut as a cabaret dancer in Abhilasha. She went on to perform in more than 500 films during the 1970s and 1980s, becoming one of Bollywood's most recognizable dancers.
Born into a Marathi family of performers, Jayshree is the daughter of stage actor Chitrasen Talpade. She trained in Kathak and initially aspired to become a doctor before pursuing a career in films. To distinguish herself from other actresses with similar names, she adopted the screen name "Jayshree T." She later married filmmaker Jayprakash Karnataki in 1989 and has one son. She is also the aunt of actor Shreyas Talpade.
Over the course of her career, Jayshree appeared in numerous Hindi films, including Jangal Mein Mangal, Aafat, Jal Mahal, Sharaabi, Nastik, and Meri Biwi Ka Jawab Nahin. In addition to films, she has appeared in several television serials, continuing her acting career well beyond her years as a film dancer.
