G. Suresh Kumar

Biography

G. Suresh Kumar is an Indian film producer and actor who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. He is known for films such as Poochakkoru Mookkuthi and Aaraam Thamburan. He is the founder of the production company Revathy Kalamandhir, which has produced more than 32 Malayalam films.

Early Life

G. Suresh Kumar was born on 15 November 1959 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, to M. G. Nayar and M. S. Sharada. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram.

Career

Suresh Kumar began his career in the film industry as an assistant director with the Malayalam film Thiranottam (1978). He later moved into film production and started producing films under the banner Sooryodaya Creations in 1982.

In 1993, he established Revathy Kalamandhir, which became the main banner through which he produced numerous Malayalam films. Over the years, the company has been associated with more than 32 Malayalam productions, covering a variety of genres.

Apart from production, Suresh Kumar later ventured into acting. He began appearing as an actor in 2017 and has subsequently featured in numerous Malayalam films in supporting and character roles.

Personal Life

Suresh Kumar is married to Menaka Suresh, a prominent South Indian actress who has appeared in more than 125 films. They have two daughters, Keerthy Suresh and Revathy Suresh.

Keerthy Suresh followed her parents into the film industry and became a successful actress. She received the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2019 for her performance in Mahanati. Revathy Suresh has worked in filmmaking and has been associated with director Priyadarshan as an associate director.
