Biography
Gee Malik Linton is an American filmmaker known for his work as a director, screenwriter, and producer. Born Gerard Malik Linton on December 9, 1973, in Brooklyn, New York, he grew up in a Jamaican-American family. He studied physics at Adelphi University and was working toward a master’s degree before turning his attention to filmmaking after selling a screenplay.
Career
Linton began his filmmaking career by writing and directing short films. One of his early projects was No Mirror Land, a 2001 short film for which he worked as writer, director, producer, and editor. He also wrote A Walk in the Dark, another short film released in 2003.
Before establishing himself as a filmmaker, Linton also worked in the fitness industry and served as a physical trainer for several Hollywood actors. His clients included Tobey Maguire during Spider-Man, Leonardo DiCaprio during The Departed, and Anne Hathaway during The Dark Knight Rises.
His best-known feature-film project is Exposed, a 2016 crime thriller starring Keanu Reeves and Ana de Armas. Linton wrote and produced the film and directed it under the name Declan Dale. The movie was originally developed under the title Daughter of God.
