Biography
Dean Martin was an American singer, actor, comedian, and television personality, famous for his relaxed style and smooth baritone voice. He was born Dino Paul Crocetti on June 7, 1917, in Steubenville, Ohio.
Martin first gained fame as part of the comedy partnership Martin and Lewis with Jerry Lewis. After their successful run together, he established a major solo career as a singer and actor.
His notable films include The Young Lions (1958), Rio Bravo (1959), Ocean's 11 (1960), The Sons of Katie Elder (1965), and Rio Lobo (1970). He was also a member of the Rat Pack, alongside Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop.
On television, Martin became widely known for The Dean Martin Show, which ran from 1965 to 1974, followed by The Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts.
Dean Martin died on December 25, 1995, in Beverly Hills, California, at the age of 78. He remains an enduring figure in American popular entertainment.
