B.S. Lokanath
Biography
B. S. Lokanath was an Indian cinematographer known for his significant contribution to Tamil and Telugu cinema. He was particularly active from the 1960s through the 1980s and worked with several prominent directors and actors of South Indian cinema.
Lokanath was known for his work on films such as Aval Oru Thodarkathai (1974), Moondru Mudichu (1976), Avargal (1977), Ninaithale Inikkum (1979), Varumaiyin Niram Sivappu (1980) and 47 Natkal (1981). His cinematography helped shape the visual style of several important films of the period.
He had a long professional association with director K. Balachander and was part of many of the filmmaker's acclaimed productions. His camera work was noted for its ability to support character-driven storytelling while maintaining a strong visual composition.
