Biography

Ameesha Patel, born on 9 June 1975, is an Indian actress known for her work in Hindi and Telugu cinema. She has won several awards, including a Filmfare Award and a Zee Cine Award.

She made her acting debut in 2000 with Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, which became a huge commercial success and earned her the Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut. The same year, she appeared in the Telugu film Badri, followed by the blockbuster Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), which won her a Filmfare Special Performance Award.

After films like Humraaz and Kya Yehi Pyaar Hai in 2002, her career slowed down, and she mostly appeared in supporting roles in movies such as Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Race 2.

In 2018, she returned with Bhaiaji Superhit, but the film received negative reviews. Her home production, Desi Magic, completed in 2019, remains unreleased due to legal issues.

Patel made a strong comeback in 2023 with Gadar 2, which became the biggest success of her career. Apart from acting, she is also involved in humanitarian work.

In 2024, she appeared in Tauba Tera Jalwa, a film that had been delayed since 2020.
