Akbar Khan (born 7 July 1949) is an Indian actor, director, producer, and writer associated with Hindi cinema. He is known for his work both in front of and behind the camera, particularly for directing large-scale historical and dramatic films.
Born in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, Akbar Khan is a member of the prominent Khan family of Bollywood. He is the younger brother of actors Feroz Khan and Sanjay Khan. He began his career as an actor before moving into filmmaking.
As an actor, Akbar Khan appeared in films such as Haadsa, Akarshan, and other Hindi productions. He later gained recognition as a director with ambitious projects.
His notable directorial works include Taj Mahal: An Eternal Love Story, a historical romance based on the love story of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, and The Rising of the Moon. He also directed the epic television series Tipu Sultan alongside his brother Sanjay Khan.
