Aditya Nimbalkar
Biography
Aditya Nimbalkar is an Indian filmmaker who works primarily in Hindi cinema. Born in Pune, Maharashtra, he has worked across direction, screenwriting, and assistant direction. His early career included collaborations with filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj on projects such as Kaminey (2009), Haider (2014), and Rangoon (2017).
He was also an associate writer on Talvar (2015), the acclaimed crime drama directed by Meghna Gulzar.
Nimbalkar made his feature directorial debut with Sector 36 (2024), a Hindi crime thriller starring Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal. The film follows a police officer investigating the disappearance of children and confronting a serial killer.
His career reflects extensive experience behind the camera, progressing from assistant and associate director roles to screenwriting and eventually feature-film direction. With Sector 36, Nimbalkar established himself as a filmmaker with a strong interest in dark, realistic, and socially grounded crime stories.
